The Two Hour Album Challenge is a community music-making event created by Ben Burnes. Every three months, Ben randomly chooses a theme and composers and producers all around the world attempt to create a song in two hours (or less, ha ha). At the end of the challenge period, which is usually about four days, Ben assembles the songs into an album and we all get together for a listening party. Ben puts the album on Bandcamp where it is free to download. Any payments for the music go to a cat rescue charity. I've been participating in 2HACs since October 2019.

This time around, the theme was "Scatter". With my recent focus on the DFAM, I thought it would be fun to do a song that was entirely percussion instruments and that played with where the sounds ended up in space. I mixed up an acoustic drum kit, some Brazilian percussion, a xylophone, and some weird space robot sound effects, then panned everything around. The first few renders were very clipped, so it took me a few rounds of setting levels and adding limiters before I got something with full dynamic range.
